Worker Verification

Workers who wish to participate can opt-in to worker verification in the Get Gigs App.

Businesses who wish to hire workers who have passed a screening can do so by adding the appropriate Add-On as part of their shift creation. Learn more by reviewing the verified shifts information page.

Overview of worker verification

To become a verified worker, you need to opt-in to verification and apply to one or more verified shifts. All Workers over 18 years of age are eligible to opt-in to verification. Once opted-in, Workers can apply to verified shifts whereby they will undergo Checkr screenings as part of their shift application.

How do I become verified?

Our partnership with Checkr makes verification simple. Here's what to expect:

  1. Opt-in to verification inside your GigSmart app
  2. Apply to a verified shift
  3. Get Offered and accept a shift for your verification check to start running
  4. Get cleared and start earning

All workers 18+ are eligible for verification. The whole process typically takes just a few minutes but can take up to a few days.

Understanding your verification status

Please review the following statuses that your account will experience as part of the verified worker process:

  • You can check your Checkr report status anytime by clicking here.
  • To check your W-2 status in the Get Gigs app, select your to your Profile, then scroll down to My W-2 Center.

Opt-In: The Opt-In status identifies your consent to allow the verification process to begin. You will remain in this status until you apply to and have been offered a verified shift. Once you accept the offer, the verification process will take place and you’ll be moved to Pending status.

Pending: The Pending status confirms that the verification process is currently taking place. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to multiple days.

Clear: Congratulations, you're verified! You're now eligible to apply and complete verified shifts with GigSmart.
