Direct hire means bringing a worker onto your payroll as a permanent employee from the start. There's no staffing agency acting as the employer, no temp-to-hire trial period, and no intermediary managing the employment relationship. You find the candidate, make the offer, and they become your employee.
This is the most traditional form of hiring — and for many roles, it's still the best option. Direct hire works well when you have a clearly defined permanent position, you want long-term commitment, and you're ready to invest in onboarding and retention from day one.
